FAQ: Climate Control
Can I replace my current central heating thermostat with a Z-Wave enabled one?
Yes. Our Z-Wave wall mounted thermostats can replace most existing central heating/cooling thermostats. To confirm compatibility, take a look at the terminals that are in use at the back of your current thermostat and match these to the ones found in the wiring diagram for the Z-Wave replacement. If the terminals or wires on your current thermostat are not clearly labelled, or you're just not sure, please consult a professional installer.
Can I control more than one zone?
By integrating a Z-Wave temperature sensor in separate living areas of the home, you can monitor the ambient temperature of these spaces and use this to control your Z-Wave climate control system.
How can I tell if your Z-Wave A/C Controller will support my split-system unit?
You can download a list of supported A/C systems and associated IR codes here but remember, even if your A/C system is not listed, this device is capable of learning IR commands, just like a universal TV remote control.
How do I add Z-Wave automation to my ceiling fans?
Right now, the best option available for ceiling fan control is to use an in-wall Z-Wave switch. This means you will be able to automate the on/off state of the fan but not its speed. We hope to have a purpose-built product which offers full Z-Wave fan control available soon.
Can your Z-Wave window chain winders be connected to 240V mains power?
Our window chain winders require a 12-15V DC transformer (not included). They are not compatible with any other voltage.
