FAQ: Home Theatre Integration
How do I connect my home theatre system to my Z-Wave network?
Most modern home theatre surround-sound receivers, media players and smart TV’s are capable of being controlled via Wi-Fi or wired network (LAN) connection. It should be possible to control these components from your Z-Wave home controller provided it is connected to the same local network. As an example, Vera offers a range of 3rd party plugins which can operate a number of leading A/V devices over Ethernet.
If your A/V equipment cannot be controlled over a local network connection, and infrared (IR) control is your only option, then we recommend the Logitech Harmony Hub. Vera (UI7) and Fibaro Home Center 2 (version 4+) controllers both offer support for the Harmony Hub via additional plugins.
Another popular solution for A/V control is the Global Cache iTach line of products however, support may be limited depending on which home controller you're using.
